Gemini in Depth
Gemini is the most adaptable and changeable sign, and loves analysing the complexities of people and of life. Gemini is ruled by Mercury, the god of communication and intellect, which makes them instinctive communicators, teachers or writers. Gemini often comes out with inspired insights and witticisms, and can usually bluff their way through any situation. Geminis are seldom boring even when they talk too much.
Geminis are light-hearted, genial, discerning and refreshing. They are the Peter Pan of the zodiac, forever keeping all options open and avoiding the commitment of adulthood. Their sharp-witted minds skim the surface of a subject rather than get involved, and they can easily appear to be the fount of all knowledge. However, they have a tendency to forget what they have said because their minds are continually rushing ahead and moving onto something else.
The Gemini life may seem to be chaotic, but this is how they like it. They do not want to be confined by routine. Their restless temperament draws them to travel, preferring short distance to long-haul journeys. Friends and relatives are very important to them, and they will talk to anyone, anywhere. They make fascinating companions, and are usually much sought after.
Gemini is associated with the Greek myth of Castor and Pollux and sometimes with the Greek twins Apollo and Artemis. Gemini is also associated with the Greco-Roman god Hermes (Mercury), and sometimes also the goddesses Eris (Discordia), Hebe and Ate, and the gods Loki and Veles.
At Play
Like Aries, prolonged concentration is tricky for most Geminis, but they make up for this by being able to assimilate information easily, and they prefer quick mental and physical activities. They are drawn to more intellectual pastimes such as word games, card games, board games and reading than highly physical sports. Geminis are often agile and lithe, enjoying gymnastics, table-tennis, dancing and running. Their number one leisure activity however, is talking - seldom pausing for breath or letting the listener reply.
At Work
Geminis are thinkers and are rarely drawn to heavy physical work. Geminis do not work well on their own or in a job with an established daily routine. They are not always as conscientious as some of the other signs as they like to get everything done at speed, but they will come up with inspired ideas and work well in areas which appeal to them. Punctuality is seldom important to them but they are just as likely to be early as late. They spread their talents in all directions but communication is always involved in whatever they do. They might take up work as a lawyer, orator, journalist, teacher, telesales executive, travel consultant, entertainer or sales representative.
Health
Healthwise, Gemini is one of the weaker signs of the Zodiac. To make matters worse, most people born under this sign do not consider their health to be very important. They are not interested in taking regular exercise and they do not tend to eat well consistently. They are prone to coughs, colds, lung and chest infections, and general aches and pains; childhood asthma is common.
