Sun Sign Groupings

The 12 sun signs (or signs of the Zodiac) are divided into several groups - sets of twos, threes and fours - the dualities, the triplicities (elements) and the quadruplicities (qualities). Each of the twelve signs has a different combination, so that no one sign has exactly the same duality, triplicity or quadruplicity as any other, meaning that they express the characteristics of their grouping in their own unique way.

In this section, you can find out more about the characteristics of each sun sign group, and learn how they combine for each star sign.

Dualities
The dualities describe the psychological state of a person - active or passive.
Triplicities
This second grouping, also known as the Elements, describes the basic temperament of each sign.
Quadruplicities
Also known as the Qualities, this grouping describes a person's attitude to life.
