Signs of the Zodiac

The signs of the zodiac (also known as sun signs or star signs) play a central role in Astrology. As the sun moves through the sky, rising in the east and setting in the west, it follows a path called the circle of the zodiac, which is also known as the ecliptic. This circle of the zodiac is divided into 12 segments, with a key constellation within each segment, each one representing a Sun Sign, or Sign of the Zodiac. Each sign of the zodiac symbolizes a basic personality type as well as a vital phase of life.

As the orbit of the earth around the Sun is constant (it spends about 30 days in each constellation), the Zodiacal Sun Sign is always the same in any given month. Our own personal Sun Sign represents the sign of the Zodiac that the Sun was in at the time of our birth.

In this section, you can find out more about each Zodiacal Sun Sign, and the different ways they can be grouped together to form dualities, triplicities and quadruplicities.
