The Sun in Depth
The Sun is our nearest star, a ball of fire that is the source of almost all the solar system's light, energy and heat. It takes the Sun approximately 30 days to pass through one sign and a full year to complete its journey through the Zodiac. The Sun's position on a person's birthday therefore determines what is usually called their star sign or zodiac sign, although it is in fact more accurate to call it a person's Sun sign.
The Sun is thought to represent the life-force, giving self-expression and individuality, and its energy relates to our egos and inner self. People with strong Suns have a commanding presence; they are always noticed and appreciated, although too much Sun in their chart can make them vain and arrogant.
The sun also rules the fun side of life from recreation and sport to social events and holidays.
