Pluto
Pluto in Depth
Pluto takes 248 years to orbit the sun, spending an average of approximately 21 years in each sign of the zodiac. However, it has an irregular orbit, and can take between 10 and 30 years to complete one sign of the Zodiac.
Despite its tiny size, its energy is remarkable, bringing intense upheaval and transformation and ruling the fundamental transformational processes of life - birth, sex and death. It is known as 'the great renewer', and is considered to represent the part of a person that destroys in order to renew, bringing buried, but intense, needs and drives to the surface.
Plutonians are attracted to mysteries and want to solve things; they are often found in scientific and medical research, police work, and psychoanalytical work, and any enterprise which involves digging under the surface to bring the truth to light. However, Pluto is also associated with extreme power and corruption, and too much Plutonian influence can make them suspicious and controlling. Its entry into Cancer in 1913 coincided with the First World War.
