Angular (Cardinal) Houses

• Houses one, four, seven and ten

The angular houses are the most important, prominent and powerful houses of the chart. When most of the planets are positioned in Angular houses, the subject's character is forceful, enterprising and dynamic. Planets in Angular houses are said to be prominently placed. The Angular houses rule the critical things in our life, such as our family life, our married life or partnerships, our career, our appearance and how we behave.

Succedent (Fixed) Houses

• Houses two, five, eight and eleven

Succedent house is a term for the houses that follow (i.e. succeed) the angular houses in an astrological chart. In general, they have a stable, unchanging, fixed quality, deriving from their central position in each quadrant of the chart. People with most of their planets in Succedent houses are rarely assertive, but they are stable and creative. Those influenced by planets in these houses are determined, reliable and persistent, having great strength and strength of purpose.

Cadent (Mutable) Houses

• Houses three, six, nine and twelve

Cadent houses are considered to be weaker than Angular and Succedent houses, and the planets located in them are seen as generally less powerful and comfortable. They are associated with communication, adaptability, and movement. People with most of their planets in these houses are highly talented but very restless and need excitement and variety.
