Hemispheres
The horoscope circle may be divided into four hemispheres - northern, eastern, southern and western. A person's quality of interaction with the world may be inferred when a majority of the planets fall within one of the hemispheres.
Northern Hemisphere
The northern hemisphere, the bottom half of the circle, emphasises family and self. Planets grouped in this hemisphere of a person's chart suggest that they have a very subjective view of life with personal privacy noted as important. They enjoy working alone and achievement in life is done so with an eye toward inner goals. The self is held to be of importance over the collective.
Eastern Hemisphere
The eastern hemisphere, the left half of the circle, is typified by an awareness of self, and one's impact on the world. A concentration of planets in this hemisphere indicates a person that is more strong-willed, self-reliant and individualistic than a reading of their signs may suggest. The placements on the east side denotes leadership ability, one who is self-motivated and often self-employed; a risk-taker. People who have many planets in this hemisphere mould situations - their environment is acted upon by them, and carries their mark.
Southern Hemisphere
The southern hemisphere, the top half of the circle, is typified by outward consciousness. A concentration of planets in this hemisphere indicates a person that is ambitious and career oriented, having an objective view of life that lets them enjoy working with others. They have a great involvement with the community and the world at large. Recognition of their efforts is important, as it feeds the validation of their consciousness.
Western Hemisphere
The western hemisphere, the right half of the circle, is typified by an awareness of others, and the impact of the world on a person. Planets grouped in the western hemisphere of a person's chart suggest that they are highly adaptable to opportunities, but also dependent on others in many ways. They may often allow others to take the lead, and are passive in their actions. These people are moulded by situations - they become a product of the environment, as the environment's mark is left on them.
