South Node

Also known as Descending Node or Cauda Draconis (Latin for Dragon's Tail).

The sign and degree occupied by the Moon when crossing the ecliptic from north to south lattitude. It is usually considered somewhat malefic, and is the opposite of the Caput Draconis (Dragon's Tail), the North Node, which is considered benefic. The south node is thought to indicate karmic talents, habits and blockages from previous lives.
