Dignities

An ancient system of placing the planets into three sign groupings entitled exalted, fall and detriment, which is not used greatly in modern astrology. Planets placed in signs where they are "exalted" are said to work well whereas planets in signs of "fall" or "detriment" are deemed to be badly placed.
