Interpreting Birth Charts
The birth chart (or natal chart) is designed to present a complete picture of a person, and an analysis of a chart should not be thought of as a definitive account, but rather an exploration of a many-sided image.
To interpret the chart, an astrologer must have an understanding of the unique roles of the planets, signs, houses and aspects. However, this is just the beginning; interpreting a birth chart involves an overall fusion of all of the information present, much of which may be confusing or contradictory, and an astrologer will always use intuition as much as intellect in their interpretation.
If you decide to study astrology, it can become a tool for personal growth, and may help to solve tricky personal problems. The best way to learn is to practise with friends and family. The beginner should always bear in mind that seemingly difficult parts of the chart will eventually give depth, endurance and positive potential to the character.
In this section, you can learn about the roles that the planets can play in the signs and houses, as well as finding out about aspects - how the planets interplay with each other. There's also a look at some of the more advanced techniques of chart interpretation.
