Step 3 - Chart the Houses
The birth chart form is divided into 12 equal segments known as houses. Once you have discovered the Ascendant, the remaining 11 houses can be drawn in as segmenting the chart at 30 degree intervals from the Ascendant, anti-clockwise. Each house relates to a different sphere of life; for example, the 2nd house relates to possessions and money, whilst the 5th house relates to pleasure, holidays and creativity.
For example, if the ascendant was 20 degrees of Cancer, then the second 30-degree dividing line, which represents the start (cusp) of the second house, is marked at 20 degrees of Leo and the next dividing line, representing the start of the third house, is 20 degrees of Virgo, and so on until the last line, which represents the 12th house and the sign of Gemini.
